The End. * * * RATING: B Although it had a slow start, Bakuretsu Tenshi was definitely one of the best titles of this season. Whether one was interested in mutant brains, corporate conspiracies, or hot mecha-on-mecha action, this series had something for everyone. In the midst of torrid high school dramas, BakuTen stood alone as a thoroughly engaging ride through post-apocalyptic Tokyo. Unfortunately, Bakuretsu Tenshi was licensed by Funimation at AnimeExpo 2004. Words cannot describe my anguish at this moment. Although we can remember the ephemeral bliss given to us through Kabitzin's excellent reviews, it seems like a portion of the collective psyche has been ripped away by the same company that licensed Full Metal Alchemist just a few weeks ago. Will Osaka be crushed under the power of RAPT? Will Meg get her sniper rifle back? Will Jango succumb to the ministrations of Gigabot Gigantes? Sadly, we shall never know.
