The End. * * * RATING: B As pointed out in excellent reviews of Garten, Ten, Kungfucius, and Tensai11, this episode chronicles the paranormal metamorphism of Inoue Orihime. While the action, plot development, and character flashbacks are all well executed, this episode does a *superb* job in fleshing out Bleach's group dynamic. In the last two episodes, this series has granted supernatural powers to Chad, Orihime, and in a certain manner, to Ishida and Tatsuki as well. Although none of these characters possess the brute strength of our protagonist, they add a great deal of substance to the storyline -- instead of hiding a critically important part of his life, Ichigo can finally share his secrets with those whom he protects. Conversely, it's rather bizarre to see Orihime and her six fairies placed smack in the middle of a sinister world with huge soul-eating demons, but perhaps it serves to ameliorate the surrounding darkness. In any case, Bleach has rapidly grown into a fairly good title. With the recent developments in the group dynamic, it's clear that this series now has all the ingredients for success, but we'll just have to wait to see how things turn out. * * * disagree? read 13 comments! * * * Related Reviews |
