The End. * * * RATING: B Just as pointed in the excellent reviews of Garten, Ten, and Tensai11, this chapter serves as a respite from last episode's team battle. However, although Bleach 15 is a filler episode, it shows a suprisingly high degree of style, humor, and polish. Given the angst-heavy tone of this series, it's rather surprising to see an *entire* episode devoted to the antics of our protagonists. To be sure, it serves to underline the degree that Rukia has acclimated to Ichigo's world, but still, it's quite . . . unexpected to see the prodigy Ishida demonstrate his wicked sowing skills and see Ichigo crack up at his dim friends. Nevertheless, the change of pace is quite welcome, and given the strong group dynamic, one could wish that the story could stay right here forever. Of course, the entrance of the shinigami throws a brick through this picturesque scene and ushers in a far darker plot thread. It'll be interesting to see if this title can still retain its grip with a new storyline, new enemies, and a un-washed-out color palette, but for now, Bleach is golden. * * * disagree? read 30 comments! * * * Related Reviews |
