Chrno Crusade 15March 11, 2004Title: The Pursuers It turns out that the hairy man at the door of Satella's mansion is a high-ranking demon called Deufo. Deufo was the leader of the force that fought against Aion's hell-takeover bid, so, naturally, we get a flashback to the day when Aion's rebel posse murdered Pandemonium, the original ruler of hell.
Now that Chrno is no longer in Aion's posse, Deufo asks that the Magdelene convent join with Pandemonium's faithful demons in order to fight Aion. Unusually enough, Rosette and the convent agree to Deufo's proposal.
Meanwhile, back in Aion's headquarters, we learn that Aion's original posse has finally discovered how to destroy heaven, but can only do this when they have collected a set of goods.
The End. * * * RATING: C Come to think about it, it was rather surprising to see Rosette sell out her religion in order to stop Aion. However, even though the alliance between the Magdala convent and the demons probably wasn't a smart move (*cough* Doctor Faustus *cough*), it's nevertheless pretty interesting, since it seems to be a parallel version of the friendship that Chrono and Rosette started at their meeting in the tomb of Saint Magdalene. Anyway, it's cool to see so many Evangelion-esque biblical allusions (apostles, the Mark, Mary Magdalene), but, still, it's unsettling to see Aion's lengthy to-do list for world domination, since it seems awfully similar to the classic "gotta catch 'em all" mantra (*shudder* *shudder*) * * * disagree? read 5 comments! * * * Related Reviews
