RATING: C

Oh my god, Eimi-chan's fish mentor is Seaman for the Dreamcast! I actually bought this 'virtual pet' game when it came out, purely because the potty-mouthed fish protagonist was voiced by Spock (*cough* Leonard Nimoy). Although I haven't played this game for ages, it's quite lovely to see that this ancient title is now reincarnated in Comic Party Revolutions. Three cheers for such good taste!

Aside from the presence of Seaman, I must say that the production value for this OAV is remarkably good -- the characters are fluidly animated, the voice actors are really funny, and the color palette used is distinctively vibrant. To tell the truth, the only thing missing was . . . the plot.

Err, yeah. Although I'd like to defer to Richard's positive review, I couldn't seem to find a single defining plot thread. Is this episode just about Eimi-chan and her quest for a beach vacation? Although I'm pretty shallow when it comes to anime (*cough* Naruto), I couldn't seem to get interested in the story, and consequently fast-forwarded through most of the episode.

In my opinion, this is a shame, since everything else about this series is great. I'm not sure whether latter episodes will fix this problem (Jeff said that this series only had two episodes), but I guess there's always room for hope . . .
