Full Metal Alchemist 13January 21, 2004Title: Flame versus Full Metal After returning to military headquarters, Edward Elric decides to pursue the legendary Philosopher's Stone by tracking down a suspicious military doctor called Marco.
However, Edward's superior (Col. Mustang) refuses to give Edward information . . .
so Edward challenges him to a duel, which is a rather poor decision.
The End * * * RATING: B After the tense prior episodes (11 & 12), it's great to be back in East City with Mustang. As epected, the humor in the episode is quite funny (i.e. Mustang wanting to be commander-in-chief so he can make everyone wear miniskirts), and it meshes well both with regard to providing a filler-ish break and giving a segue into the next story arc. Having said that, the music in the ending is simply phenomenal and the Japanese-English typography for the lyrics (done by DeathWolf, Aionion, Rutro, and Kosoke) is outstanding. It'll be interesting to see why Mustang murdered an unknown woman, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see :) * * * disagree? read 6 comments! * * * Related Reviews
