Full Metal Alchemist 20February 28, 2004Title: Guardian Soul Borrowing a technique from Scar, Edward defeats his enemy in the laboratory.
Meanwhile, on the outer grounds of the lab, Alphonse battles armor suit "No. 66" . . .
But in a pause, No. 66 causes Alphonse to doubt his true identity.
The End. * * * RATING: B Without a doubt, Edward is clearly growing to be much more powerful than he used to be, as he is now able to copy Scar's signature attack and use it effectively against an opponent. While this *does* prove to be interesting, it begins to raise issues of Edward increasing evilness, as he's now using a forbidden technique, as well as researching the forbidden Philosopher's Stone. While this is a key underlying lief-motif, it also seems that Edward is also growing apart from his younger brother, as Alphonse seems to be just as sweet and honest as he was from the start. On one hand, it's worrying that the aforementioned gap will break the brother-to-brother rapport in this story (which is one of the primary appealing things of this series), but perhaps we'll just have to wait and see (^_^) * * * disagree? read 2 comments! * * * Related Reviews
