The End. * * * RATING: B Hands down, this episode is simply outstanding. In retrospect, it's weird to see how much this story has progressed -- in the "Barry the Chopper" episode, we saw Alphonse regretting how he wasn't scared of death, but now, when he is almost killed, we see Alphonse being acutely afraid of death. Although it's kind of weird to see Alphonse doubt his humanity when he's about to be killed (and thus, most human), it's noteworthy that the producers decided to call attention to this intriguing philosophical note. Aside from that, it's intriguing to wonder what happened to the 30-odd prisoners that were about to be used in the ritual -- they were quite important before Scar came in, but, after his arrival, they became trivial. Not to be pedantic, but if they weren't killed initially by Edward's massive power bubble, they must have been killed either by the corrosive nature of the red water, or by the collapsing ceiling, or by the Fuhrer's strike force (ordered to 'trample' everyone). Oh well, perhaps the producers merely had to establish that there are things that even Edward won't do in his quest to achive the Philosopher's Stone. * * * disagree? read 6 comments! * * * Related Reviews
