and both the asteroid and Athrun fall into Earth's atmosphere.
The End. * * * RATING: B By all standards, Gundam Seed Destiny is an excellent title -- there's white-knuckle mecha fights, bewildering plot twists, and more angst than one can chew. However, this title is quite inaccessible in its own right, and those who didn't watch the original Gundam Seed don't stand a *chance* of grasping what this series has to offer. This is really a shame, since nearly everything else about this series is extremely well-polished. As a case in point, the art is simply superlative -- on one hand, it's neat to see the asteroid plummeting toward Earth, and, minutes later, it's thrilling to see millions of shooting stars from an Earth-bound perspective. Although this series doesn't have the traditional pixel-perfect 3D simulations seen in most space-themed titles (e.g. Stellvia), the art style is quite appropriate to the gritty, war-torn nature of the series and, in the end, really makes this series seem quite credible. In any case, the storyline is proceeding quite well in its own right -- there's clearly an epic undercurrent to the plot (given the impending destruction of Earth) and it'll be interesting to see how the tone and characters change in the aftermath of this cataclysm. * * * disagree? read 2 comments! * * * Related Reviews
