Title: I Left Behind All the Stuff I don't Need
Fansubbed by: Shinsen-subs

Typically, our two heroes (Nanohana Jiyuu & Felicia) are friends . . .

However, after they don an eyepatch, they both turn into incarnations of an ancient female superhero, known as Yagyuu Jubei. In reality, there's only supposed to be one Yagyuu Jubei, so, naturally, they fight each other . . .

. . . as well as this eccentric individual, who has supposedly been tracking down Yagyuu Jubei for three hundred years.

The End.

RATING: C

Quite frankly, the whole idea of using an item to transform from an ordinary middle-schooler to an uber-warrior is a bit stale. However, although I've seen transforming rings, swords, or cell phones, I've never seen . . . a transforming eyepatch! Woot! It's a bit weird to wonder why the designers chose these objects instead of Digimon-esque goggles (since, um, eyepatches block peripheral vision), but, nevertheless, it is rather ingenious. Certainly, these patches don't adversely affect the sword-wielding performance of Nanohana and Felicia, since their battles are both suspenseful and eye-catching (heh heh heh).

However, aside from the high quality of the fights, there's really nothing particularily noteworthy -- the plot is erratic, the humor is sketchy, and the voice acting is mediocre (except for the middle-school kendo figher, who is absolutely horrid). I dunno, maybe I'll give it one more episode, just to see if the story develops . . .
