RATING: C

Whoa -- we meet Picard's lost energy-sucking alien *and* complete a 'hot springs' episode within the span of twenty minutes! It's two cliches for the price of one! And, to top it off, the title of this episode has onomatopoeia! Woohoo!

Anyway, this episode introduced Megumi Higashibara -- a child that can listen to the thoughts of humans, animals, and machines within a fairly large radius. Although this ability is clearly useful for spying and the like, I'm surprised that Megumi can actually hear the voice of a lone manta amidst all the verbal clutter within the submarine.

While this is rather implausible, it's even more surprising to see that our hero's submarine has a whole deck devoted to a huge heated bath. After all, the deck is only used once every month, and it seems extravagant to spend so much space for such a limited purpose. But then again, hot baths are fun!

In any case, this was a fun filler episode. While I'd argue that BakuTen would do a better job of presenting a "hot springs" title, it was still amusing to see our pirate crew taking such a laid-back approach to life. Clearly, being a pirate has its perks!
