The End. * * * RATING: B In an action-heavy followup to the excellent prior episode, this shows our protagonists finally catching up to Orochimaru's strike team. However, despite their resolve to bring Sasuke back, it's obvious that our heroes are completely outmatched. At the very beginning of the episode, the skirmish seems tilted in our favor when Shikamaru's ultimate technique freezes his opponents. However, the tables are quickly turned, and the offensive techniques of *one* enemy ninja is enough to trap our entire genin team. Without a doubt, it's clear that Konoha's force would have been wiped out within this episode if not for the quick thinking by Shikamaru and Neji. In contrast to the classic brute-force techniques shown in prior arcs, this episode places a priority on strategy and resourcefulness. Since our genins don't possess the sheer power of their opponents, there's no doubt that strategy will be indeed the only way that our protagonists can survive.
