Naruto 115December 24, 2004Title: Your Opponent is Me! While chasing Sasuke, our heroes are blocked by Kidoumaru.
Neji decides to fight him alone . . .
and quickly gains the upper hand.
The End. * * * RATING: B In a surprisingly upbeat follow-up to the last chapter, this episode illustrates the beginning of a battle between Orochimaru's elite and the *strongest* genin in Shikamaru's unit. As heir to one of the ancient families of Konoha, it's great to see Neji finally pitted against someone worthy of his merit. At first glance, it's clear to see that Kidoumaru is *far* stronger than the various Sound ninjas we've seen before -- he's able to analyze Neji's techniques instantaneously, and his spider-human parallel is nothing short of creepy. In addition, Kidoumaru seems to be far more . . . cruel than his predecessors, seeming to delight in toying with his opponents and watching them suffer. All told, this episode offers a great sampler of what we can expect from the next episode. Without a doubt, Neji is the ace in Shikamaru's deck, but given the present strength of his opponent, one can only wonder how long Neji can hold up to Orochimaru's Level 2 curse. * * * disagree? read 166 comments! * * * Related Reviews
