Naruto 75March 19, 2004Title: Going over the limit . . . Sasuke's Decision! Gaara has finally transformed into a half-demon monster, and, in the commenced battle, we quickly realize that Sasuke is simply no match for Gaara's new form. Sasuke uses his ultimate attack (Chidori) and slices Gaara's demon-hand in half, but Gaara recovers by simply regenerating a new hand from his supply of sand. After getting hit by a full frontal blow, Sasuke is pinned against a tree, and is forced to listen to Gaara's taunts.
At this point, Sasuke has used up all of his Chakra, but he decides that he can't die now since he has to avenge the destruction of his clan. And so, Sasuke summons power from Orochimaru's evil seal and attacks Gaara using Chidori.
Even though Gaara takes a devastating hit, Gaara again uses his sand-regeneration abilities to heal his wounds. Meanwhile, having used up all his chakra, Sasuke falls down unconscious, now covered in strange black marks. Gaara rushes to Sasuke, intent on delivering the final blow, but he is stopped by a spin kick in the face from
. . . Naruto, who has just arrived with Sakura and Pakkun. The End. * * * RATING: B In short, this episode is utterly badass. Now that Gaara has transformed, it's simply amazing to see the sheer power that he has at his disposal -- offensively, he has a huge amount of speed and brute strength (clearly shown when he cuts down five trees with one blow) and, defensively, he can recover from almost any injury *and* is resistant to heat jutsus. Anyway, the scripting for this episode was marvelous -- Gaara kept on doing the Darth-Vader "Come to the dark side -- let the hate flow through you" thing, and Sasuke kept on having weird flashbacks to the murderer of his clan. Personally, I was pretty surprised to see Naruto kick Gaara in the face without stopping to check out Gaara's new look, but I guess it makes sense (considering we're talking about Naruto). Anyway, I'm pretty amped on how the series is going, and, to be sure, I'm definitely going to be waiting to see if Gaara can be beaten after all (^_^) Oh yeah, and Sarutobi Hokage is *still* impaled in the Konoha arena. * * * disagree? read 4 comments! * * * Related Reviews
