Naruto 83May 17, 2004Title: Oh No! Jiraiya's Woman Troubles, Naruto's Misfortune! Naruto and Jiraiya go to a hotel in a nearby village.
Jiraiya leaves the hotel in order to party.
In the meantime, Itachi visits Naruto at his hotel room.
The End * * * RATING: B Unbelievable. Simply un-be-lievable. Without a doubt, the producers of Naruto are *masters* at the art of the cliffhanger. Honestly, this is suspense distilled to perfection -- the whole deal with Sasuke running to find Naruto's hotel room before Itachi, Naruto walking to the door to answer the knocks, Sasuke opening the door on the wrong person . . . yeah. Utterly amazing. Anyway, this episode was superb -- aside from the ending, there was plenty of character development on the part of Naruto's teammates. For the first time, Sasuke wonders at Naruto's new strength and shows signs of jealousy. Additionally, Sakura learns that Naruto saved her from Gaara and finally recognizes Naruto as a contender for her sweets. This character development was well-complemented by the associated humor -- it was rather funny to see Sasuke learn about Itachi's arrival from the sunglass-wearing-jounin, and, to top it off, it was uncanny to see just how similar the young Jiraiya is to Naruto ("Sarutobi-sensei, it's always Orochimaru this, Orochimaru that!"). Speaking of Jiraiya, it was also amusing to see how such a powerful ninja got so easily distracted -- that man is *such* a playah! So, I guess that wraps things up -- Naruto is clearly in some serious trouble, but we'll have to wait a week to see what happens. Grr. * * * disagree? read 14 comments! * * * Related Reviews
