Title: Foolish Little Brother! Curse Me! Hate Me!
Fansubbed by: Ajone & FunnyMation

Although Jiraiya has arrived, Sasuke insists on fighting his older brother alone. However, Sasuke is no match for Itachi.

Itachi starts torturing Sasuke using genjutsu, so Jiraiya steps in by converting the hallway into a living corridor of flesh.

However, Itachi uses a black-fire chidori techique to rip open the wall and escape.

RATING: C

It's rather odd to see just how inept Sasuke is at fighting his brother. Perhaps blinded with rage at the death of his parents, Sasuke attempts to beat Itachi with straightforward physical attacks, and is accordingly beaten to a pulp.

In the past, Sasuke has always used high-level attacks and strategies (i.e. steel strings when fighting Orochimaru in the second chuunin arena, extremely fast Taijitsu when fighting Gaara, substitution clones when beating Temari), so it's quite surprising to see Sasuke try to use brute force to 'punch out' a former ANBU commander. Although this confrontation was supposed to be the *most* important event of Sasuke's life, just as Itachi said, this went faster than I thought.

Although Sasuke's fight was surprising in itself, it was even weirder to see Jiraiya's choice of an attacking technique. Turning a hallway into a wall of flesh? Couldn't he use a more direct method to capture Itachi and Kisame?

Aside from Jiraiya, this episode does bring up a lot of unanswered questions -- we still don't know why Itachi has to wait "until the moon becomes the sun" to capture Naruto, and what Tsunade has to do with the storyline. We'll probably find out about this later, but still, it seems like we'll have to wait yet another week for more . . .
