Naruto 90July 9, 2004Title: Anger Explodes! You won't get away with that! Jiraiya asks Tsunade to be the leader of Konoha . . .
But Tsunade declines.
As expected, this angers Naruto.
The End * * * RATING: B It's finally here. For the last 10 weeks, we've been waiting for Jiraiya and Naruto to find Tsunade, and, at last, it all begins *now* To be sure, it's now clear that Tsunade is really worthy of being the Fifth leader of Konoha -- in addition to being the granddaughter of the 1st Kage, Tsunade is extremely good at both melee combat and healing ninjitsu. Given Tsunade's obvious strength, it's unclear why she chooses to squander her life in petty theft and chicanery instead of acting more like an S-rank ninja. Although Jiraiya also holds this nonchalant attitude (i.e. he'd rather prefer "conducting research" than lead Konoha), it's apparent that Tsunade actually *disdains* the prospect of being a Kage. Instead of seeing the position as an honor, Tsunade sees the position as a drudgeous chore that ultimately results in a futile sacrifice. Understandably, it's obvious why Naruto is so enraged by Tsunade's point of view. Even disregarding the sacrifice made by Saidame, Naruto has dreamt of being a Kage since the start, and it's painful to see someone treat his goal like dirt. Although his subsequent match against Tsunade is horribly unequal, it's possible that his spirit will convince Tsunade to accept responsibility. However, Tsunade has her own grievances in play, and with Orochimaru's one-week deadline drawing near, it's anyone's guess what she will do (>_<) * * * disagree? read 28 comments! * * * Related Reviews
