Naruto 91July 19, 2004Title: First Hokage's Inheritance! A Necklace Which Flaunts Death! Tsunade bets her necklace that Naruto cannot master the 'Rasengan' technique.
In passing, Naruto learns that Tsunade's necklace is a priceless treasure from the 1st Hokage.
However, the necklace kills anyone who wears it.
The End * * * RATING: C As suspected, it turns out that Tsunade's necklace is actually cursed, killing anyone else that wears it. Although it's still unclear whether the necklace is merely a good-luck charm or actually provides a boost to the wearer's stats, it's obvious that it can command an extremely high price. Given Naruto's penchant for quick money, it's easy to see why Naruto agreed to the bet in the first place. However, one would think that Shizune's disclosure of the necklace curse would discourage Naruto instead of making him work harder. There's not a lot one can say at this critical junction, but it's definitely interesting to see such a large number of thematic circles in the air -- within the week, (1) Tsunade has to decide whether to heal Orochimaru and (2) Naruto has to master a level S technique. Both tasks seem impossible, but a resolution must be made (>_<) * * * disagree? read 18 comments! * * * Related Reviews
