The End * * * RATING: B As the episode title indicates, the tentative agreement between Tsunade and Orochimaru disintegrates into shambles and the foreshadowed fight is finally on. Although this is impressive in itself, the real surprise present in this episode is . . . the sheer strength of Kabuto. In the past, Kabuto has been a fairly minor character, but now it's clear that Kabuto can match the skills of a Kage-level medical ninja. Given that Tsunade is renowned for her medical techniques and is possibly the only person capable of healing Orochimaru's arms, it's quite surprising that she can be beaten on her own turf by a mere stripling. Even when one considers that Kabuto 'unfairly' invoked Tsunade's fear of blood, it's obvious that he has outstanding melee skills, as well as an unbelievable level of adaptability (i.e. in reconfiguring his limbs when disabled). Without a doubt, if Jiraiya had not showed up, Kabuto would have succeeded in capturing Tsunade. In any case, this episode raises several interesting questions -- we'll definitely have to see if Tsunade will be able to confront her fear of blood, and, judging from the previews, it'll be interesting to see if Naruto will be able to recover from Kabuto's taunts. Until then, it seems that we'll just have to wait for next week (>_<) * * * disagree? read 47 comments! * * * Related Reviews
