Naruto 94August 6, 2004Title: Take it! The Fury of Rasengan! Although severely poisoned, Jiraiya singlehandedly duels Orochimaru and his two huge summoned snakes.
With Jiraiya gone, Kabuto starts torturing the helpless sannin Tsunade. Enraged, Naruto forgets his broken leg and steps in to protect Tsunade.
Although Kabuto injures Naruto, Naruto manages to execute the legendary jutsu 'Rasengan'.
The End * * * RATING: A Let's get one thing out of the way. Although Naruto has been running for nearly two years, this is undoubtably the best episode *ever* aired. Perhaps the most appealing thing about our hero is the way that he always tries his hardest to protect his comrades, no matter how impossible the situation looks. In this episode, Naruto is shown protecting Tsunade -- the very person who insulted him and made fun of his dreams. Regardless, Naruto forgets about the past to defend Tsunade from Kabuto, a jounin-level ninja. To be sure, Naruto is often brash and annoying, but it's quite touching to see just how much he cares for his friends. While this episode was chock-full of painful violence, there was a fair bit of humor to break up the tension. In particular, it was rather funny to see Naruto summon a tiny frog in response to Orochimaru's two huge summons. Although it seems impossible, this series is actually getting *better* as it progresses. While one would normally expect a title to run out of material after 90+ episodes, there is no doubt that Naruto will continue to be a favorite in the future. * * * PS: Fellow fan Green Dines has submitted a wickedly sweet piece of Naruto fanart that is extremely well drawn. In addition, uber-blogger Reika has posted a great Naruto cosplay gallery from Otakon 2004. If you haven't seen these before, both are definitely worth a look (^_^) * * * disagree? read 68 comments! * * * Related Reviews
