Dr. Barret's Lecture

Argh, busy day -- just went to a lovely lecture by Prof. Barrett (above w/ H. and D.) at the Union. I'm not sure I agree with many points that were made, and I'm rather disturbed on the frequency in which Dietrich Bonhoeffer is held as a paragon of moral rectitude, but still . . . it was a very stimulating talk.

In other notes, the awesome Damon wrote previously that Jorge Cham's PhDComics is freakishly realistic, and, after seeing the most recent comic, I couldn't agree more. Case in point, here's an excerpt from Dr. Cham's strip for Thursday . . .

I'm not sure whether I ought to pleased at conforming so well to the grad student archetype, but I suspect it bodes poorly (^_^)
