Quick note, but went out with R., E. and E.'s research advisor to a star-gazing trip in a really rural part of Illinois (3-hourish drive from campus) It *was* quite cold, and we got back only early in the morning, but Prof. N. (& family) were awesome enough to let us sleep over for the night, cook breakfast, and drive us to class! As an aside, if I ever become a professor, I'd like to lay claim to the karma that select educators exude (^^)

In any case, picture above is from dinner at Prof. M's house w/ friends -- not sure exactly which concert below picture is from, but I do remember it being rather good (esp. lead guitarist)

PS: Mad kudoes to A. for sucessfully defending her thesis proposal! We are proud.
