Maya 3D Snagged

There was a seminar at UIUC's Beckman Institute yesterday on creating 3D models for medicine-related multimedia (i.e. video clips on protein folding). It was really quite cool, but the best part was at the end, where they actually handed out copies of Maya Complete 6.5 to faculty/grad students from biomed departments!

I'm pretty sure there's an implied expectation that this $290 piece of software ought to be used for research, but little do they know about my devious plans to ursurp Maya for character modeling purposes instead! To-ho-ho!
