Happy Spring Break!

Short note in passing, but just wanted to wish everyone a most excellent St. Pat's day, as well a relaxing spring break (to those who celebrate this holiday ^^). Classes resume on the 27th, so I'm afraid that my spring break is already half over, but I had an awesome time traveling around Chicago with the extraordinary B. and J.! B.'s research in Mech.E. is fiendishly complex and is *much* more applied than my thesis project, but it was really cool to discuss approaches to standard problems in epidemiology modeling from an engineering standpoint in lieu of a clinical point of view. Woo for inter-disciplinary collaboration!

Final note, but did have a chance to see V for Vendetta with B. and was justly entertained -- Hugo Weaving is the bee's knees (as expected), and I suppose Ms. Portman wasn't too bad, but the movie seemed awfully strident about totaliarism and the right of the individual within the context of fascist government strictures. I mean, I'm all for using art to send a deeper message, but perhaps it's prudent to stop character pathos from reaching emo proportions [re. protagonist: craaaaawwling in my skinnnn]
