Ho ho ho! I am still recovering from sessile-ness, so more pictures of friends that are way smarter than me (T_T)

So, anyway, the picture above is my bible study group! The interesting thing is that all of the above come from a huge range of fields -- from left to right, J. is a 3rd-year med student, N. is a PhD student in Mathematics, S. is a PhD student in Sociology, B. is a PhD student in Applied Engineering, and J. and M. are both PhD students in Electrical Engineering. The great thing about this diversity is that I can get *extremely* pertinent advice about my research -- as a case in point, I'm currently on an assistantship centered on predictive algorithms for medical diagnosing, and it's wicked cool to bounce ideas on, say, whether neural networks or Markov chains yield better forecasts and get *instant* feedback on whether my methods are viable... Anyway, I am very thankful for the people around me :)

In any case, life is going surprisingly well -- most major papers are done, grant proposals have been submitted, and I'll be catching Harry Potter at midnight on Thursday w/ some friends! Accio movie! (^^)
